The weird log dates are normal with the Ceton. I don't think there is
any way to fix it.

I think it best to leave the Ceton on permanently. The cable company
sends cable card updates over the wire. If it is unplugged I don't know
if you may miss the updates and land up with wrong channel assignments
or other problems.

You need to reboot the ceton occasionally, once a week or once a month.

You may need to upgrade your firmware to the latest to get all channels.
That would be version 15.1.13.152 dated Tuesday, 13. January 2015.
