Where did you get this number from in mythfrontend? If the "All Programs" 
screen it may exclude programs in the LiveTV recgroup and the Deleted recgroup.

Given you have a couple of known examples to work with check the value of 
recgroup and deletepending from the recorded table.

With deletepending I had some recordings get stuck in limbo that didn't 
show anywhere but I found still in the database literally a year later. 
IIRC I had to manually toggle the value back to zero in mysql which then 
allowed them to be deleted in mythfrontend again and they did delete second 
time around. I think there was a similar thread from someone else recently 
with the same experience.

I don't recall ever seeing such a setting although that doesn't count for much.
