Hi Karl,

I'm using MythTV 0.27 with North American ATSC recorded TV content and
have also experienced occasional missed subtitles.  I had assumed that
the captions were simply missing.

If you have tried the same recording with VLC and it displays the
missing subtitle, then there might indeed be a bug in MythTV's handling
of subtitles.  It would be helpful for the MythTV developers if you
could provide small sample of recorded content (a minute or so) that
exhibits this problem.

I did a quick search of MythTV tickets and the following existing report
appears to be similar in nature.

To increase the likelihoood that a developer can identify and fix and
issue, it helps immensely to clearly describe the problem and also
provide the steps to reproduce the issue.
