The HD-PVR's are a sunk cost, but the monthly STB rental fees are not.
You'd probably come out ahead financially in about a year if you bought an
HDHR, rented a cablecard, and returned two STB's. The break-even point
might even be sooner if you count the electricity bill (STB's aren't known
for being energy efficient!)
