I don't think so. The only thing that is going to be different is the database. Providing that 
recording files aren't deleted, so that the information gets out of sync, running a test database 
against the NAS should work.

Any subsequent recordings made on the old system wouldn't show up on the test system, but the test 
system will just ignore them.

So, just backup your database, copy the backup to the new system and restore. Of course, you should 
do this before running mythtv-setup so that setup can do any required upgrades.
