I second Mike's Comments,
As he mentioned Australian Broadcasters are terrible at starting and
stopping at the right times (I run a 10 min hard roll pre/post + an extra
10min soft roll pre/post),
while it is only marginally easier then the the 10min skip it is easier and
its not random it completely depends on your pre-roll settings "you" set on
your recording schedules and as previously mentioned the workaround is to
automatically run a user job to run clear the bookmark mythutil
--clearbookmarks --chanid %CHANID% --starttime %STARTTIMEUTC%

Alternatively mythtv is opensource you could fork the project prior to this
change and compile yourself :)
