In the (much?) longer run, the answer may be the transition
to QtWebEngine (from QtWebKit), as QtWebKit has been
deprecated by Qt (and is no longer maintained?).  It should
be noted that QtWebEngine has its own interesting
(build) dependencies on some platforms (or did, they might
have been addressed in the interim).
