Hard statistics please?  The most recent backblaze results (one
of the few groups to publish their numbers) do not support that
conclusion (although there have been absolutely terrible specific
models from almost all manufacturers).  Of course, what matters
to an individual is not the average, but the sample they have in
their hands, and for that, statistics are meaningless.
