For those of a more discerning taste, MythTV
does support the more advanced deinterlacers
available in some (not all) later variants of the
HD Graphics engines and those people may
find the result significantly less satisfying
(YMWV), especially if they are used to the
high quality of the nvidia options. One should
certainly test their tolerance for the differences
before committing.
Last I knew, the devs were looking for a few
good patches from someone with the time
(and knowledge) to rewrite the VAAPI video
pipeline to support the later capabilities
(but if you have the interest, be sure to ask
on the dev list, because every so often I
recall seeing a dev talking about how RSN
they might have the time to start on the work,
and maybe someone has).
