I would cut the cord today if I could get CNN or a comparable national news
station OTA.

The number of businesses/government offices that pay for cable just for the
news is absolutely insane.

Sure they would lose out on carrier fees, but they would dominate their
competitors when it comes to viewership and their advertising would more
than make up for it.  News is one of those things that people leave on all
day and don't walk away when commercials come on... probably the best bang
for an advertiser's dollar.
