[mythtv-users] Problems with video buffering on playback

Hey all,
I've been seeing lately some jerky playback and many lines like the
following in my mythfrontend.log:
*May 20 18:00:03 mythfrontend.real: mythfrontend[30584]: N CoreContext
mythplayer.cpp:2176 (PrebufferEnoughFrames) Player(3): Waited 307ms for
video buffers AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAuAAAAAALAAP*
I'd recently upgraded from mythbuntu 13.10 and mythtv 0.27 to now running
mythbuntu 16.04 and 0.28 - although the upgrade was a bit painful, it's
been running well and I'm generally happy with the fixes and that I'm
running the latest and getting updates.
I never noticed this behavior before, except every once in a while when
multiple recordings & mythcommflag jobs were running and I was watching
something previously recorded.
This is also 1080 content. I occasionally watch SDTV, but haven't noticed
the jerkiness or seen these messages in the log, so I am pretty sure it's
just with HD content.
Are there settings I can adjust or memory buffers I can increase to
alleviate some of this? Or does my old Dual Zeon CPU machine no longer have
the Horsepower when running 16.04 and 0.28??
Thanks for any advice...
