[mythtv-users] Broken recording schedule behavior

Hi E James,

I was running the same version of myth on a 13.10 backend using EIT on OTA
broadcasts like you until I recently upgraded my box and myth to 16.04 and
0.28.

I have found that the EIT information that 0.28 presents is MUCH improved.
There were some fixes to how the EIT was processed. On my old system, the
major networks schedule info was generally correct, e.g. what information
was provided corresponded to the specific episode or movie. However, a
network's substation(s) info was generally incorrect. It would show the
correct program title, but the episode information was off (I think it
would show the episode information from 24 hours ago - which sometimes
would *look* correct, if it was a show that was on each day at that time,
but would have been for yesterday's episode, and other times it would be
for a totally different show).

Anyway in 0.28, the EIT info has been correct, for major networks and their
sub-stations.

Still, the EIT info is lacking season and episode information, so the
scheduler never knows whether an episode is a "new" episode or if it was
previously recorded, so none of those rules *work* exactly on my system.
Fortunately, I don't care about that much, as I generally review the
upcoming recordings and adjust appropriately in the evenings prior to
"prime time" anyway.

Still, I wonder if the EIT info you are presented is correct, or if like in
my case, it's off by 24 hours on some stations in your area - and so I
wonder if it would behoove you to upgrade.

Like you said "if it ain't broke...." but in my version it was broke, at
least as far as the EIT info on the set of sub-channels in my area was
concerned.
