I'm not sure you've got all the nuances of my suggestion. You are correct that I was suggesting that you set a manual record from time A to time B on channel C - but that does not require any schedule information whatsoever. Set no duplicate checking, and set to record every day. That makes a tuner "busy" between the times - and setting it to high priority means it'll shove all other recordings off to different times (or create a conflict if there is no other showing).
By setting this "dummy" recording to only keep one recording, and delete oldest, each day the system will delete older recordings - meaning it doesn't fill the system up with a weeks worth - that's why the "keep only 1 recording" suggestion.
