i forgot to mention that the mouse dissappears frequently...jiggling/clicking 
sometimes recovers:-\

this morning i edited openmax normal, changing deinterlacers to recommended 
advanced(hw)/fast((hw) and was treated to video flashing off & on @ ~1hz:-\
changing back reduced the rate to ~0.25hz, with most of it off...even the tv 
said no signal:-(

unchecking enable realtime prio threads, extra audio buffering, and setting 
deinterlacers to none doesn't change anything...off&on, mostly off...and the log 
contains nothing...

and sound is totally gone on several channels...but then i realized i had not 
enabled pass-thru, so increasing volume (1 of the few functions that works on my 
vrc-100 mce remote) increases the volume from zero...apparently some channels 
get set to zero when tuned, while others are fine.

but peter's .deb now displays full-screeen:-) unfortunately, 
setup/tv/playback/profile, while listing openmax normal, does not allow editing 
(nor even show the rez params)  video advances @ ~3f/s, and sound drops out for 
several seconds every few minutes.

i wonder how osmc does it...
