Exactly.  This is what's needed--that is the proper configuration.

This is only required if the remote recording host is not always 
available.  Then, rather than asking the recording host where to find 
the file, the frontend would ask the master backend where to find it.  
Note, though, that this should not be used as a way to get around 
properly configuring your Storage Groups (as described). That should be 
done first, in which case this setting won't make any difference (since 
the recording host will, at most, just specify the location of the file 
and the frontend will read it "locally" from the NAS using the NFS mount).

Really, there's no good reason for this setting to exist--it should 
always be enabled and only ever needs to be disabled if someone 
misconfigures their storage...
