I'm using PCTV 292e 
(http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_292e.html) with kernel 
4.4.0 successfully. Specifically:

$ lsusb
Bus 005 Device 003: ID 2013:025f PCTV Systems

$ uname -a
Linux htpc 4.4.0-24-generic #43~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 9 09:46:26 
UTC 2016 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux

This is on Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS, using linux-generic-lts-xenial package.
