30 frames behind audio is very extreme. Even with heavily loaded systems
I have not seen higher than 5 or 6 frames behind. Are you sure you have
openmax decoder, openmax render, the mpeg2 license, and ALSA selected ?

Do you have the latest Raspbian?

You said you use the raspberry pi for other things. Maybe something else
is running at the time? I suggest you set up a new SD card just for
mythtv with the latest Raspbian and only the minimum needed for mythtv.
