jack on the back labeled "ir in." From what I so far gather, this is
included to provide a means for Tivo systems to interface with the DTA by
wire rather than by sending IR signals. Is there some way a MythTV system
can interface with the device by wire using that 3.5 mm port? (see
https://www.amazon.com/TiVo-Cable-Direct-Connect-Control/dp/B00VQWYNB8 for
an example of a cable that is meant to connect a Tivo system with the DTA)

that this issue of the "ir in" port on this DTA was also addressed on this
list about a year ago in the thread entitled "How can I change channels on
a Cisco HD271 DTA (with TWC)" (

Except for the fact that I returned my/their STB I could still be doing
what you are pondering. I had a DCT700 with a channel change script (no
need for lirc if you can find an appropriate script for your box) and an IR
blaster (serial port out of my PC and IR send taped to the front of the
STB, maybe you can find a serial to 3.5mm cord and avoid the tape) In Myth
when you find your NTSB card you will be presented with a screen that asks
what channel to open the card on as well as other useful parameters, that
escape my memory at the moment.
If you're enjoying the picture quality of OTA now, as I am it may be less
of an enjoyable experience to watch cable recordings, I found them soft and
fuzzy in comparison to the sharp clarity of OTA . Happy trails!
