Well, the same photoshop effects circa 1994 on a non-powerPC Mac only
had about 1/200th the raw MHz processing power and even smaller
fractions of FPU capability now available in the most skinny and thin
laptop today, to do in 'a few seconds' so this definitely has scaled
up quite well over the years; GPUs can enable parallelism in these
calculations and such now, giving a trailer the effective compute
capacity of many financial supercomputers only a few short years ago.

And all for the name of making a $ by displaying lucrative ads where
itd be too expensive to permanently mount a big jumbotron for example.
