[mythtv-users] changed hostname - lost storage groups

Ho again,

Started this morning and I thought for a while that the reboot had fixed it.

Connection to backend came up a few seconds after I started the frontend, navigated to videos and the list populated, but when I came back a few minutes later, the connection to the backend had broken and the videos were gone again.

One thing I notice is that localhost is pointing to 127.0.0.1 but my hostname "mythbox" is pointing to 127.0.1.1 in /etc/ hosts. Could that be a problem?

I have a static IP 192.168.253.80, so perhaps I should reconfigure everything to point to that, or use the "mythbox"hostname everywhere, as I have a local DNS server running in my network.

Anyway, here are a few lines of frontend log and both FE/BE logs on google drive:

For MYTHBOX, what does the 'hostname' command return. For the SG(mythbox), it
appears that's looping through the metadata and pulling the hostname from it.

*Pastebin* a complete frontend and backend log
if the above didn't help.

Did you reboot after restoring the hostname. In the last
set of posts, the hostname (as known to MythTV) was:
MYTHBOX_NEW

I wouldn't.

A complete log lets those trying to answer see lines
that verify the version and see "Using configuration directory"
lined etc. I recall early log entries that warn of Storage Group
issues if present.
