	David,

I too was having issues with a fresh install. I have decided to try
the 0.27 to 0.28 update then a 14.04 to 16.04 upgrade.

But I did notice a post on this list from Stephen Worthington that
describes the changes  required to 16.04.1 setups, These are required
due to the change from upstart too system (I think I have that
correct). Do a search and you will find it.

You are correct about the level of knowledge here, it is immense and
readily passed on.

	Andrew

I am appreciative and in awe of the knowledge presented in this
thread. I've been trying off and on for several weeks to do a fresh
install of 0.28 on Ubuntu 16.04 with a combined fe/be system. I'm
using networked tuners, HD Homerun and HD Prime, and I've noticed on
both the cable and OTA side that when the system attempts to access a
tuner the green light comes on momentarily then goes off. Is the
likely culprit the "NetworkManager-wait-online. service" and if so
would someone be so kind and to point me in the right direction to
solve the problem. Thanks,
 Dave

I have about 500GB of recorded TV on my mythbuntu 14.04 backend on
version 0.27 of mythtv. I’m ready to upgrade to 0.28.

I’m trying to pick the best way.

I know I can use MCC and change the repository from 0.27 to 0.28 and
do an upgrade in place (making sure I have a current backup of the
database).  I could then do a "do release upgrade" and bring the OS
to 16.04.

Is that better than doing a fresh install of mythbuntu 16.04.1??
I’m worrying about restoring the 0.27 database backup to 0.28 after
I install 16.04 from scratch?  I have my recording on 2 separate disk
that will not be erased by a fresh install.

Thoughts on how to do this right?
