Have you somehow accidentally changed the Group Filter setting? My
mother does this occasionally by pushing the wrong button on the
remote. Go to Watch Recordings and while on the left hand column of
series names, do M (menu) => Change Group Filter. If it is set to
anything other than "All Programmes" (normally at the top of the
list), then you only see a restricted list of the recordings, as per
the filter set. If you have not been using this feature, there may be
no recordings that match the other filter settings, giving you no
recordings displayed.

This setting is per frontend hostname, so does not affect other
frontends. It is remembered in the settings database, so once set
will not go away on restarting mythfrontend or rebooting.

When on that screen in my Mythcenter Wide theme, you can also see the
Group that Group Filter is set to as a list of Group names above the
column of recordings on the right hand side. The current Group bright
coloured to mark it as active, and the other Group names are dim. You
can change the Group Filter setting around the available Groups by
using whatever remote keys you have set for that. The default keys
are the fast forward and rewind buttons. Accidentally hitting one of
them is what my mother does.
