hey guys,

Pulseaudio has an issue with having a HDMI connected display and resuming from a suspend state (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio/Troubleshooting#No_HDMI_sound_output_after_some_time_with_the_monitor_turned_off). the following happens:
working: http://paste.ubuntu.com/12603469/, failing: http://paste.ubuntu.com/12603476/ - lines 64&67 change to say 'not available' and i'm missing my AVR device when it doesnt work.

I've taken a look at pacmd/pactl and i only have one sink available so the above wiki suggesting to switch away/back to sinks wont work.
Restarting the pulseaudio service via mythbuntu 'service', or via 'pulseaudio' command do allow PA to rediscover my AVR and allow fully functional 5.1 via the HDMI connection.

Simply rebooting the FE gets pulseaudio working correctly, but I have not found a reboot-free method to restore correct operation.

Are there any other options to get PA to rediscover connected devices? fwiw, i'm using an Intel 2820 NUC with mythbuntu 14.04.
