I've been using both MobileMyth and MythTV Player to locate the video,
then having them hand that off to MX Player.  Once MX Player has the
right URL for the source, it pretty much just works if its been
transcoded.

Yes.  I've been having some issues with the metadata grabber
integration lately that I haven't figured out.  Sometimes, after the
transcode, the metadata lookup fails and the file doesn't get inserted
into the mythvideo database correctly.  I haven't had time to track
that down yet, but MX Player can play the content just fine.

I've watched a bunch of movies on my Note 4, and many more on my S3
before that.  I'd rather be on the couch with a bigger screen most of
the time, but I find it a better way to watch content that might not
be entirely appropriate for my kids (my youngest is not quite six
yet).
