Greetings all

Since moving beyond the original 3.13 kernel in Mythbuntu 14.04 I've
experience some interesting problems.

vmlinuz-3.13.0-63-generic - mceusb fails on USB3
vmlinuz-3.14.10-031410-generic - mdeusb is OK on USB3 but its an
unsupported kernel
vmlinuz-3.16.0-48-generic - sometimes gets the problem below during boot
vmlinuz-3.19.0-26-generic - also has the problem below

Sep  4 08:33:02 newmedia kernel: [  631.425648] mceusb 1-2:1.0: Error: urb
status = -71
Sep  4 08:33:02 newmedia kernel: [  631.425731] mceusb 1-2:1.0: Error: urb
status = -71
Sep  4 08:33:02 newmedia kernel: [  631.425779] mceusb 1-2:1.0: Error: urb
status = -71
Sep  4 08:33:02 newmedia kernel: [  631.425827] mceusb 1-2:1.0: Error: urb
status = -71

If I don't get to it quickly, I have a gig of log file in no time!! Any
ideas on how to fix?

The 3.16 and 3.19 kernels came from following
   https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack
having tried the update a couple of months apart. The first update caused
occasional stuttering on HD content after a while (memory leak?) but
another update 2 days ago loaded all new files and the stuttering is now
gone.

Also, since I have no use for the original 3.13 kernels, how do I get rid
of them and the subsequent updates that require a reboot even though I
don't use them?

Cheers
