Don't just assume it'll run the Pi.
At work, we've a few Pis running "billboards" on large TV sets, and the power from some of the TV USB ports isn't adequate. So some of them have the intermittent (or mostly on) psychedelic square on screen to show that the power is marginal. That's running a web based "show next page and do nothing for 30 seconds" type application - so shouldn't be needing a lot of power for video decoding.
