The only suggestion I might have is rather than just reboot, shut it 
down completely. Don't trust shutdown to completely shut the machine 
down. If the power supply has an on-off switch, turn it off. Otherwise 
unplug it. Wait a while and restart the machine, booting into Mythbuntu. 
Then see what you have.
