Your stutter is most likely not due to memory at all. My family watches
stutter free 1080p movies all the time with an Atom processor, 1GB of RAM,
and a slow thumb drive as the bootable disk. I am using VDPAU with an
Nvidia ION chipset. What is your graphics card and are you using VDPAU or
VAAPI? Also, what bitrate are your 1080p movies?
