btw, just to close the loop a bit, I believe that your upgrade
to F22 pulled in lirc 0.9.2a, which (in fedora) has a default
configuration (in /etc/lirc/lirc_options.conf) effective-user=lirc,
which is overall goodness (no longer running lirc as root),
but does mean the permissions of the devices now have to
be adjusted from what they were in your F21 system (where
lirc likely was running as root).
