Yeah.  It's an economic fallacy to look at the cost of the Liva vs.
the Pi in proportional terms, when it's the absolutes that matter in
this case.  In other words, the fact that the Liva is twice as much as
the Pi is irrelevant.  What matters is that it's $50 more.  The
question is if the Liva delivers an additional $50 in value over the
Pi.  Many would say yes, but of course it depends on the particulars
of your situation.
