There were articles in the trade press earlier in the day that
said the show was taped live as (I think) 17 minutes long,
and CBS was going to let it run the entire length, and to set
your DVR appropriately.  I mean, CBS did not want a "Heidi
Game" moment (cut it short before the end), and telling Dave
what to do on his final show was not likely to end well for
anyone.

As with the other complaints with CBS (and other providers,
let us not blame only CBS), "event TV" (and this was an
event) does not work well with time based methodologies.
