[mythtv-users] Need to update kernel because of PCTV 292e stick .. help

Hello everyone

I also am running 14.04.2 using the 3.13 kernel series on an old ion (zotac
b-e dual core 330 atom I think) as a combined fe/be with 2x 290e tuners and
I was looking to replace one due to recording errors (see below it seems it
isn't a failing tuner).

What is peoples experience of things breaking when installing the hwe
package? It is a big update, how does the nvidia driver cope for instance?

I have been having issues with the 290e tuners failing to record (zero byte
recordings) which is resolved by a reboot.

It is supposed to be resolved in the latest stable kernel as of 2/2/2015

So for me upgrading to the latest hardware enablement won't remove my issue
only going to a later kernel (3.18.5 or 3.19 or later) or going back to
kernel series 3.11.

So I'll have to wait until the end of the month when the vivid hardware
enablement pack is scheduled for release

But am looking for peoples experiences of this update.
