I can't comment on the individual tuners, however if you are yet to
build the backend machine, and assuming it will be running Linux, it
will be safer for now to stick with USB2 ports, which use the eHCI
drivers.

There are known issues with some Intel USB3 controllers (which use the
xHCI drivers).  There are some fixes proposed for the 4.0 kernel which
will hopefully resolve most of these issues.  There may still be
interoperability issues between the individual device driver and xHCI,
e.g. the cx231xx driver appears to still have issues on xHCI even with
the 4.0 proposed fixes (although it is *much* better).
