"One" of the marketing terms is TLER (Time Limited Error Recovery),
another is CCTL (Command Completion Time Limit), another is ERC
(Error Recovery Control).

It used to be possible to change the values on even consumer
drives, but as people figured that out the vendors usually disabled
that ability in their drive firmware to force people to buy the more
expensive (marketing expensive, not cost of manufacturing
more expensive) drives that default differently, and can be
configured differently. Firmware now differentiates drives more than
the mechanicals (and has created entirely new market segments
to sell to).
