As I understand it, Google Fibre distributes the channels via
(encrypted) IPTV.  The "analogue hole" (STB (Google calls
it a TV Box) & HD-PVR) is the reported option if you decide
not to use the (included in the service) DVR functionality of
their storage box (2TB, as I recall).  Their storage box can
record 8 shows at once.  While pricing may vary, I believe
additional TV Boxes are $5/mo (should one wish to record
multiple shows via MythTV and HD-PVRs, for example).

I am sure that as Google gets closer to actual rollout
in your area you will be bombarded by the usual mailings
regarding your options and actual pricing (and, typically,
incumbents will start to price match).
