[mythtv-users] dvb-s import channels.conf - support dropped

Hello list:
        I'm trying to set up a FTA satellite system C /Ku Band (North
America)and having problems getting mythtv-setup to lock onto a
signal. My second
thought was to import the frequency into mythtv.

        But I stumbled upon this thread stating that support for
importing a channels
file has been dropped. ( mtdean  about half way down)

So, can someone can confirm this?
