I was able to read this information from Xorg.log, if you are using
Xorg. For example:

[ 51.005] (--) NVIDIA(GPU-0): --- EDID for Pioneer Electronic
Corporation VSX-1123 (DFP-1) ---
[ 51.005] (--) NVIDIA(GPU-0): EDID Version : 1.3
[ 51.005] (--) NVIDIA(GPU-0): Manufacturer : PIO
[ 51.005] (--) NVIDIA(GPU-0): Monitor Name : Pioneer
Electronic Corporation VSX-1123
[ 51.005] (--) NVIDIA(GPU-0): Product ID : 0x0000
[ 51.005] (--) NVIDIA(GPU-0): 32-bit Serial Number : 0x01010101
[ 51.005] (--) NVIDIA(GPU-0): Serial Number String :
[ 51.005] (--) NVIDIA(GPU-0): Manufacture Date : 2013, week 0
[ 51.005] (--) NVIDIA(GPU-0): DPMS Capabilities :

this goes on for quite a while, but shows the video and audio
capabilities of the receiver. The raw EDID bytes are show if you need
that type of information.
