Mysql/MariaDB should not become corrupt following a controlled shutdown.

Bugs are always possible, but I don't recall hearing of a case of any
MythTV user having problems following a clean shutdown beyond the
obvious fact of a partial recording.  I routinely shutdown the backend
process while recordings are in progress and have never had an issue
myself.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.  If you configure your backend to
monitor the UPS and actually do a controlled shutdown, you've done
more to care for your system than 90%+ of users out there.
