Rogers has a known history of being special. A couple of their
DOCSIS modems/gateways were reported to have issues
(various issues with DNS, timeouts, hangs, etc.) and the solution
offered is to replace the modem (with the same model) which has
not usually fixed anything. Perhaps firmware updates can address
some of the issues at some point.

It should be noted that while putting the modem into bridge
mode (and not using the modems various router capabilities)
is reported to solve some of issues, Rogers has been reported
to occasionally update the modem and restore it to gateway
mode (probably their default), restoring the original failure
modes.

The only people that I have heard are happy are those that
have moved to other TPIA providers (and as likely as not
because they have fewer interactions with Rogers).

Are the cable companies in Canada at the top of the list
of hated companies (like they are in the US)?
