The 'mce' specification for remote controls does not include any particular list of IR codes, and
therefore manufacturers have seen fit to make up their own rather than choose a sane standard.
The fact that the mceusb config file doesn't work for one remote does not surprise me at all. If you
look at the file you will see it contains a number of incompatible codesets, not all of which cover
many of the remotes and receivers available, especially the Chinese ones.
Your best bet is to use irrecord and make up your own. At least that way you know that it will be
compatible.
