^^^ + Mike's follow up:

--syslog localWhatever --quiet would then be the best solution
for systemd users that want to use journalctl. --quiet prevents
double logging rather than redirecting stdout to /dev/null (why
print to the console it if it's going to be thrown away.)

--logpath /somewhere/... --quiet continues to create the per-backend-
run file but puts almost nothing in the journal (mostly the start
and stop messages.) Which is good.
