Is that true?  It was my recollection that it was not Hauppauge
sanctioned at all, that individuals did the work on their "free" time,
although if be "helped" you mean Hauppauge did not interfere,
then I guess they "helped".

Hauppauge, to first approximation, is after the Windows users.
It is where the money is.  You can not blame them for that.
