I think the current recommendation is to upgrade, with the usual
caveats that YMWV.

There was a period where the latest firmware and a kernel/mythtv
level that many people were running had some color issues.  That
was addressed a long time ago, but then again, some people never
upgrade firmware/kernel/mythtv versions (if it ain't broke....)
