Well, I seem to recall an old bug for the baytrail usb 2.0 port too.
I would presume it got fixed (but as I did not have any particular
interest, I did not add myself as a cc party to follow it, and a
quick search does not seem to find anything open, so either it
got fixed, or it never happened).

This sounds like a perfect excuse to do some driver debugging.
I (sometimes) love those.  And I (sometimes) hate those.
