Did you also get rid of the old "filters" and "plugins"  directory 
also?   If I remember correctly both of these were also causing me issues.

Are you installing to the same directory as you set the "prefix" to when 
you ran 'configure'?

I'm guessing it is an environment issue, as I did a fresh pull today and 
just compiled and not seeing any issues on ubuntu 14.04.
