I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone in sufficient authority who cares much about "content quality”. :-( Or worse still would recognise it if they saw it!

In fact there seems to be an attitude of keep reducing the quality until we get complaints. Additionally there is a general amazement amongst Engineering types at how low the quality can go before anyone much rings up to complain!

There was of course the BBC bitrategate a few years ago but that was caused more by Ofcom’s attitude, yeah you can get 4 HD channels in there use some “technology” we’ve heard that just gets better all the time.
