[mythtv-users] No upcoming recordings just spurious Never Record?

A strange problem started sometime yesterday, I had a successful recording at 7pm then later that evening when I happened to look on MythWeb to schedule something I noticed not a single upcoming recording! 

On scheduling a new recording that appeared in the list, as the only recording. 
I checked the Listings and there were valid listings for a week, the status screen showed 8 days of guide data. 
I tried running a mythfilldatabase which completed, no change, I am using EIT guide data so that’s probably irrelevant.

I restarted the mythtv-backend service, no change.

Looking deeper in the mythweb upcoming recordings I found all the recordings I would expect to see scheduled, marked as “Never Record” I could force a recording with “Activate” or “Forget Old” and I have been through almost all the week’s recordings with forget old and the upcoming recordings seems plausible a couple of things recorded successfully yesterday evening.

Checking again this evening I see a couple more shows marked as “Never Record” again “Forget Old” fixes the situation.

I’ve also just run Database “Repair Tables” followed by “Optimize Tables” from Mythweb and some programmes I purposely left as Never Record are still in this state.

The database is positively antediluvian, started sometime around v0.18 maybe even earlier and upgraded stage by stage.

I’m running on MythBuntu 14.04.2 64bit up to date with patches to a few days ago, at least a day before this problem was spotted. MythTV version v0.27.4-41-gf1115fc from mythbuntu builds.

And now while I’ve been typing this email a bunch of recordings (some not all) have been marked as never record!


Anyone seen this before?

Anyone have any idea how to start fault finding this?
