Not to worry, most providers have a plan in place (for which
they are not willing to share the dates) to "solve" the clearqam
problem for you as soon as they can afford the DTA rollout.

My recollection is that that is true even in Canada (especially
the not sharing part), and that some providers are already
encrypting everything,

The CRTC is not your friend.
