If you read the article, you'll see that it already works with
native Chrome. Details are here, and I wouldn't really call them "hacky
tricks":

My up-to-date Fedora 20 system already has the right versions of
google-chrome-stable and nss, so only User Agent spoofing was needed.

I haven't heard of any plans to run Chrome through MythTV.
