Well they are out but only the high(ish) end GTX980 & GTX970, they do have HDMI 2.0 as rumoured/expected but I can’t find anything definitive about h.265 decoding. The wording I’ve seen was sufficiently vague that I suspected perhaps the existing GTX 750 & 750ti would have it too and the 750 is available fanless now and ok price.
I also can’t quite work out if the software part of the h.265 decoding will be on GPU or part of binary driver running on CPU, would make a massive difference to what CPU and/or what exact GPU you might require to make h.265 work properly. I’ll be waiting a little more for some clarification.
Seems they are working on it for VDPAU so we will get it on Linux at some point and hopefully in MythTv too.
